musical vehicle of Māori-Australian multi-disciplinary artist Moana
Mayatrix – once described as “one of Australia’s fiercest front women” by
TripleJ’s Gemma Pike, in collaboration with musicians Willow Fearns,
Yann Vissac and Reed Lester.
Mayatrix & The Psychics conjure the raw heft of rock, infusing it with a
psychedelic elixir that is 2- parts surreal and 3-parts big-time sensuality.
On stage, they come-on like a jolt to your cerebral cortex from a fever
dream, dazzling audiences with their electrifying and theatrical stagecraft.
This has earnt them a devoted and growing fanbase not only around the
country, but with some of music’s most influential players, having recently
supported rock legends The Cult on their full Australian tour 2024 after
being personally requested by Ian Astbury and his management. Their
magnetic live show has also bagged them support slots for the likes of
Karnivool, Voice Of Baceprot, DEF FX and Ocean Alley.
