Phaedra’s programming reflects the diversity and richness of her own music tastes, and her respect for all artists working together in a warm, friendly and creative environment.
Phaedra Watts is the Festival Director of The Nannup Music Festival, a much loved “music lovers” festival, which has grown to be a respected and appreciated event on Australia’s music calendar. Her role sees her creative vision, development, program, production, logistics, site and delivery of the festival, none of which would come to fruition without the incredible teams she works with.
She is a strong supporter of Emerging and Indigenous performers and is honoured to work with these artists in a contemporary context. Phaedra is passionate about community, culture and creativity and is supportive of all ways that these can be enhanced or experienced for all. Her ethos is based on love! Phaedra worked for Skinnyfish Music: as Coordinator of Mowanjum Festivals (2017-2021) and Stage Manager at Barunga Festival for numerous years. She is a peer accessor for numerous arts and music organisations having a great understanding of the importance that the arts have in community and the vital need of financial support to see things take place. Phaedra Loves mentoring, being part of workshops or presentations, anything that can help others where possible. She was recipient of the 2017 Golden WAMi Award for her contribution to the WA Music Industry. When she isn’t involved in any of these ‘industry’ things, she can be found either at home or at the sea- both her sanctuaries.
