Oakabella & The Maeflies are a dynamic experimental folk troupe lead by queer, neurodivergent singer-songwriter Oakabella Mae based in Boorloo, Perth.
Their sound encapsulates notes of oak tree folk as Mae spins yarns with an oeuvre of flowery composition, captivating listeners, inviting them into their heart space. Following the release of their debut EP “Complimentary Ghosts” and performance at Nannup Music Festival they were nominated for the Emerging Artists Award in 2025.
Oakabella Mae was featured at the Fremantle Winter Festival hosted by RTRFM and has supported Siobhan Cotchin, Lloyd & The Leftovers, Clare Perrott and more. Their 2026 single Take Me (To The Comedy) was played by Anika Luna on Triple J Home and Hosed and their aim for 2026 is to release a song each month, raising money for a different charity along the way.
